Use natural ways to reduce melanin make your skin lightening. The amount of melanin in your skin is determined genetically and is also produced naturally when your skin is exposed to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. When your skin is exposed to sunlight, skin cells produce the brown pigment melanin, which gets oxidized and becomes darker. Melanin is the skin’s natural defense against harmful UV rays.

1, Wear long clothing that will cover your arms, legs, neck and feet if you must go out during the day. This will protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. Wear a hat to protect your face and a pair gloves so your hands don’t get exposed to the sunlight.

2, Apply sunscreen that has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or more to all parts of your body that will be exposed to the sun if you are outdoors. This can include your face, ears, neck, hands and other uncovered areas.

3, Stay indoors during the day, especially when the sun is at its peak. Once you stop coming in contact with the sunlight, the melanin in your skin will gradually decrease. This may take several months to a year depending on how tan your skin is.
